Read Letter from Republic Wireless' CEO on Response to COVID-19

Press Box: December 2015

The official word is in:  Switching to a smaller cellular carrier could make you happier! In case you missed it, the 2015 Consumer Reports cell phone service survey had so much to say about which carriers people like doing business with … and no surprise, traditional cell phone plans are not looking so good anymore. Poor scores. Poor dears.

If you follow Consumer Reports, you know that CR is the golden source when it comes to unbiased reviews  - in fact it’s quite impossible for a brand to influence their rankings, which is one reason this part made our day: “These companies offer lower costs and responsive, knowledgeable staff members.”

Our favorite, no-nonsense consumer guru Clark Howard, who also works hard ensuring brands don’t influence his recommendations, also weighed in: If you haven’t switched cell phone carriers in a while, now is the time to get a deal. Rumor has it a certain carrier is among Mr. Howard’s easiest ways to save.

It’s like a great game of “follow the leader.” No question about it, WiFi calling is here to stay with even Verizon now getting into the game. We don't want to say it but, “we told you so!” The good news is Republic remains committed to passing the savings on to our members via lower rates and the Republic Refund plans which pay you back for all unused cellular data.

Republic Wireless is “one of the more interesting options in wireless…” writes Rob Pegoraro, writer for the esteemed site. Guess who offers the best unlimited voice and text plan? Psssstttt… Rob, we now offer tethering, too!

We appreciate the kind words as Rob and the Wirecutter team have been around the proverbial wireless block. “This Wi-Fi-first MVNO has long been one of the more interesting options in wireless, and over the last couple of years it’s benefited from Sprint’s ongoing improvement of its network.
