My husband and I both took a bit of a risk last year when we started with Republic Wireless. A few of our friends recommended them, but most people are stuck with the big contract companies. We LOVE these phones and plans and are still so happy with our choice to switch over! Low monthly fees for unlimited calls, texts, and internet. Not to mention the phones are high tech with lots of features, take very clear photos, and are easy to use once you get adjusted. The customer service is great too! Occasionally we get a dropped call or echo during a phone call, but this you will find with even at&t and sprint. It's just part of the territory with cell phones. What I like is anytime you have a problem that is big enough to warrant calling customer service, they do anything they can to help and are constantly improving the quality of cell service. Thanks so much!!!

I debated between the first gen and second gen moto x and decided to go with the first gen. It is a great phone! It does everything I need and more. Although the battery doesn't last long, about a day, the phone charges very quickly. I have had no problems with running out of battery. I have no regrets going with the older model.

I've been using the 1st generation Moto X from Republic for around 10 months after switching from Verizon. I'm on the $10/month plan and really liking it. I have access to data at work, home, and also at a lot of stores, restaurants and other public places. I've found that it's a marginal inconvenience not having data delivered over the cell towers. Anytime I feel inconvenienced I ask myself if I'd pay another $15, or in Verizon's case another $50, just to be able to access the internet at this very moment in my car. For me the answer has been no, it's not worth it. I'll just wait until I'm in a restaurant or store with Wi-Fi. I like the service so much that I've convinced my wife to give it a try once her contract with Verizon was up. She's been using it for about 3 weeks now and says she still need's a data plan, (the $25/month one) but she'll keep giving the $10/month one a try. I'm hoping that as she adjusts her routine, she'll find out that she really doesn't need to get data through the cell towers. So far so good. As far as call quality and coverage I've experienced no problems on Wi-Fi or cell coverage in our area. But then south east Wisconsin is very well covered by the Sprint network so I can't say about other places in the country. The few experiences I've had in other parts of the country are a hiking trip to north eastern Utah. I made calls from the car once we got back on the paved roads heading back to Salt Lake City. I had no trouble making calls form any city in Utah or Wyoming and had data at every hotel on the trip. On another trip to northern Minnesota, the main lodge at the resort had Wi-Fi. I could make calls and check e-mail with no problems.

I arrived to the USA from Europe recently. Of course, immediately raised the need for mobile communication. At work I was given a temporary smartphone connected to Verizon. To say that I was surprised and disappointed is an understatement. Coverage from Verizon was, as we say, not very good... Issues would not arise if we were talking about some kind of remote from "civilization" place. But, sorry, this office center is within a very large city (Charlotte, NC). On the street, the signal is still acceptable, but in the building... it was all very sad. And It is not very consistent with the claims that Verizon is almost the coolest mobile service provider. I began to wonder - if the "best" provider having such problems with coverage, then what can we say about the rest? At this point on the stage appeared Republic Wireless. My colleague told me that there is an operator that can seamlessly switch to operating mode via Wifi. My boss gave the go-ahead for the purchase of "test sample" (Moto X). Our joy was boundless. After long tortures with virtually complete lack of mobile communication inside the office, where we "enjoyed a services" of Verizon (besides also very expensive), we finally got a chance to use the excellent mobile communication at a very democratic price. The phone is good. There are almost no complaints. That the model range of devices is presented only by one manufacturer, personally quite suits me, as well as Android as a platform. Problems, strangely enough, arose not with the device itself, but with a web application (republicwireless.com) It appeared that all phones attached to the account can be served only by one credit card. Because of attempt to pay the second phone (bought as a gift) from other card, there was a confusion already at a purchase stage. Moreover, as it turned out, there is no easy way to transfer the phone to another account (which is served by a different credit card). This was possible only through complete "service cancellation", but without actual returning the device.

I was concerned about the size of Gen 2 Moto x, especially how it will feel/look in my pocket. For that reason, I got the Gen 1 even though it doesn't have the latest micro, etc. Because of its curved back, the Gen 1 Moto x makes less of an outline in my pocket than my previous much-smaller-but-more-boxy HTC XV9600 did. Two months in, I'm really happy with how Republic Wireless works (technically and in philosophy). The stream of feature updates in the RW app encourages me that things will keep getting better here for $10 plan members like me.

I am very satisfied with this phone. It is very easy to set up and use. I like the concept of the Motorola Migrate app to transfer contacts, photos, and other data from my old phone to this one, though I wished it worked a little better as some contacts did not transfer for some reason. Also, Motorola Assist is an excellent feature to minimize distracted driving and unwanted interruptions. But again, I wish that feature worked a little bit better. A few bugs still need to be worked out. Still, this phone is excellent for the price, and I like being able to buy an unlocked phone that does not come pre-loaded with unwanted apps that cannot be removed. I tried this phone for 30 days and was so happy that now my entire family is switching to Republic Wireless and buying Moto x phones.
